
STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
At Bishop Douglass School we believe:
All pupils have the right to learn and achieve;
All teachers have the right to teach;
Everybody has the right to feel safe and respected;
Every student should be given an opportunity to develop a healthy life style.
5 Golden Rules for Effective Learning
We attend every lesson and arrive on time;
We bring our planners and the correct equipment to lessons;
We sit where our teacher tells us;
We listen in silence when someone else is talking;
We work to the best of our ability and let others do the same;
5 Golden Rules for a Safe Community
We respect our own and others' 'personal space' and speak politely at all times;
We walk calmly on the left in the corridors and on the stairs;
We eat and drink in the dining room and put our litter in litterbins;
We leave electronic gadgets at home i.e. mobile phones, MP3 players, etc;
We walk on the pavements, we queue politely for buses and we treat the public, with respect when travelling to and from school.
5 Golden Aims for a Healthier Life
We aim to eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day;
We aim to drink two litres of water each day;
We aim to walk for at least 30 minutes or complete at least 30 minutes exercise every day;
We avoid smoking tobacco and taking any illegal substances;
We are responsible for our own emotions, feelings and actions.
