At Bishop Douglass School we recognise that the step up to secondary education can be both exciting and daunting!
We understand that different students will respond in different ways to this significant transition period and we aim to ensure that this crucial time is made as smooth and enjoyable as possible for all of our students and parents.
To ensure the successful transition of our new students we employ a variety of strategies. The popular Summer School and Induction days enable students to form positive relationships with their peers and form tutors. Lessons are planned and differentiated based on the results of tests completed in the summer term of year six, ensuring that all of our students can access the curriculum and make good progress. The provision of a variety of extra-curricular clubs enables all students to develop or discover new interests and grow in confidence as they settle into their new school.
