The Bishop Douglass Chess Club!

This term has been hugely successful for the Bishop Douglass Chess Club.
In November, we took a team to Westminster School to compete in the first round of the National Schools Championships. Some excellent chess was played in a picturesque playing hall, and some of our students got to test their skills against England internationals. Stefano (Y7), Elijah (Y10), and Rocco (Y10) each achieved some fantastic results, but the standout performer was Marcin (Y11) who won all of his games.
We also competed in an online tournament against schools from across the country last Friday. The students did themselves proud and finished a strong 3rd behind Brentwood School and Mill Hill County School. Dan Ji (Y9) and Masashi (Y7) in particular performed very well.
