BEST EVER A LEVEL RESULTS FOR BISHOP DOUGLASS SCHOOL

Martin Tissot, Headteacher of Bishop Douglass School in Finchley said that he and the Governors were delighted at the ‘best ever’ A results this year.   He said ‘these results will propel the school into the top 5% of A level providers’.

Deputy Headteacher, Michelle Henderson, pointed out that the rise at Bishop Douglass is in the opposite direction of national results.   She said that the Bishop Douglass performance is even more praiseworthy as this was the first set of results from more stringent, A level courses introduced two years ago.

Initial estimates show a rise in the pass rate at Bishop Douglass with 55% of the students achieving A*-B Grades (54% last year).   Amrita Wilkhu, Head of Sixth Form, paid testimony to the hard work of both teachers and students and said that the school’s University preparation programme had been very effective.    She said that the percentage going on to University at 99% of Year 13 was at an all-time high with 33% of these going to Russell group Universities.   Top performers this year were:
