Jack PetcheyAchievement Award Winners

The Jack Petchey Foundation was set up to inspire and motivate young people and recognise those who have gone above and beyond to achieve.
The Jack Petchey Foundation was set up to inspire and motivate young people and recognise those who have gone above and beyond to achieve – perhaps when others thought they might fail. The Achievement Awards are awarded for a number of reasons, including: academic achievement; someone who has faced a challenge head on; a young person who has pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone; and being an outstanding team player.
An important part of the scheme is the involvement of young people in selecting the award winners for their hard work and efforts. Therefore, students are encouraged to nominate and vote for their peers to receive the awards.
We are delighted to announce our nominees in this year’s award scheme:
- Petra for her dedication to Bishop Douglass and going above and beyond in all that she does.
- Hamz for his dedication to the environment and hard work towards increasing and maintaining biodiversity at our school.
- Kaleb for his sportsmanship and positive attitude at table tennis club.
As part of their Achievement Awards, our nominated students have been allocated £250 to spend within the school. Petra has decided to spend her funds on equipment for DT; Hamza has allocated his funding to the gardening club and eco-committee and Kaleb has naturally spent his funds on an automated table tennis serving machine.
Huge congratulations to our dynamic trio: Petra, Hamz and Kaleb!
These are just three of our young people who have been recognised as being outstanding at Bishop Douglass, and there are many more students who go above and beyond in all they do, making our school a place where everyone is happy and can thrive. We look forward to the next round of award winners, and take this opportunity to congratulate all our students on their continued hard work and achievements.
The Achievement Awards are primarily about recognising those who put in the effort and do their best.
