The International Day of Women and Girls in Science takes place on the 11th day of February every year by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly and is implemented by UNESCO and UN Women. This international day recognises the critical role women and girls play in science and technology.

Taking up the mantle this year was our Year 8 Form ‘Campion’ who researched women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The students discovered lots of women who had not been credited for their work at all, at the time or not until years later. Form 8 Campion then focused their research on one important woman in Science and presented their findings to their class. Additionally, they impressed their peers in Key Stage 3 during science lessons as they shared amazing stories of groundbreaking women.
