Students received positive results across the board, with 44% achieving A*-B and Distinction/Distinction* at BTEC. There were some stand out subjects awarded A*/A grades, including; Maths, Chemistry, Art, and History also posting impressive results.
Following impressive results of A* Maths, A* Chemistry and A* History and the A* EPQ Sebastian Burrows-Davila is looking forward to attending Cambridge University in September. “I am absolutely delighted with my results, I couldn’t have asked for any more from my teachers or the school; the teachers care deeply about both their students and their subjects, there is excellent pastoral care. The incredible UCAS support and access to the free Oxbridge workshops as well as, the community atmosphere, provides a great support network and this helped me to succeed in a subject I am passionate about”.
Year 12 students have also performed extremely well and are well placed to produce excellent A2 results in the summer of 2023.
Head of 6th Form Laura Binz, was delighted with the spectacular results: “Our students have worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserve the congratulations today. They have set the bar high for 2023!”
Headteacher and CEO of Martin Tissot stated: “The achievements of our students have come as a direct result and reward of their continuous efforts, dedication and grit. I am overwhelmingly proud of all students and would like to thank our committed staff, who have gone above and beyond in providing students with excellent teaching, support and subject knowledge. We are thrilled to see so many of our students progressing into further education and we wish all Bishop Douglass students, both past and present every success in the future”.
