Sporting Success!

Yesterday was a very busy day for girl's sport. 4 fixtures took place across KS3, with every participating pupil enjoying the chance to represent Bishop Douglass. The Year 8/9 football team had their first fixture of the season and despite a fantastic first goal they suffered a 3-1 loss to Compton. The girls showed great team spirit and represented the school in an exemplary manner. They are all eager to get back on the pitch next Monday to get their first win of the season!

The year 9 netball team also played yesterday and below is a match report from joint player of the match Kianna.

"Yesterday, we played against Archer Academy. At the beginning we had multiple shots and scored. However, yesterday's game was a hard one but taught us what we needed to do to improve so we can have success in future games. The game was a very tense one but we will use this game to influence our training. The joint payer of the team, nominated by the opposition, was myself playing Goal Shooter/Goal Attack and Winta who played terrific throughout the game as Center."

The Year 7 football team triumphed with a 3-0 win over Compton. A hattrick scored by player of the match Shiya allowed BD to breeze past the opposition and kick off their season in the best way possible. Well done all!
Although it wasn't 4 wins out of 4 for the girls' teams this week, the PE department are so proud of the effort and participation of all involved!
